Who knew?

Another short and random thought. My total mileage for Memorial Day weekend was 36. The best part? All 36 miles were on trails that left directly from town. Even better? Not a single part of trail was repeated. What runner wouldn't want to live here?

Hi- charming blog! Came over from Devon's.

I have ankle problems too from years of playing soccer and just being a klutz. So I wear an ASO brace when running trails now. It has kept my ankle "in the running" and isn't too much of a pain. I'm afraid to run trails without it now, but the ankle is ok on regular roads now I think (knock on wood).

Your saga was sad, but you made an amazing recovery! Good job!

Thanks for stopping by Cynthia! I checked out your blog - lots of cool race reports. I too have the ASO brace, but after several weeks, it was hurting my achilles. Funny how the things that help sometime ultimately hurt!

Danni - You've still got to get down here to run some of these trails! We've put in an application to adopt a dog (more details to come). If it doesn't work out or he can't come home with us in the next couple weeks, I may be in Kali on the 12th. I'll let you know.

I found that if I tie it on in different ways it can be tight enough and still relieve pressure on sensitive spots like the achilles. Experiment and you'll probably find a way that doesn't hurt.
